Our Intent

At Riverbridge we believe that Music is an integral part of the learning experience. Our learners will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of musical styles, instruments and techniques during their time with us, and will be enabled to appreciate and understand the diversity music brings. Musical appreciation and skills begin in EYFS with the exploration of the ways we can make sound, and by the time children leave Year Six, they will have explored a wide variety of instruments and vocal techniques, and will have been exposed to music from a range of cultures and periods of history. Through the use of our Music teaching Scheme, ‘Kapow’, children are introduced to music from all around the world and across generations, teaching children to respect and appreciate music of all communities.
